TrafficCamNZ Lite is a tool that allows users to view live images from any internet-enabled web camera. It includes a default collection of over 50 cameras, which can be customized by adding personal sources. The application displays up to four images simultaneously on standard devices, or six on iPad, with the flexibility to select which images are shown. The free version incorporates Apple’s iAd advertising and limits viewing to four images; to access more images without advertisements, users can upgrade to the full version available on the App Store.

The application is primarily designed for viewing traffic cameras but can be utilized for any accessible web images, such as weather maps. Featured images are downloaded and arranged side by side, enabling quick swiping between multiple feeds. While TrafficCamNZ functions over cellular networks, optimal performance is achieved via WiFi due to faster data transfer speeds.

Initially, the app comes pre-configured with a selection of international traffic cameras. Users have the option to disable these and add their own preferred sources through simple configuration settings.

<li>Downloading images consumes network bandwidth; large image files may impact data usage over cellular or WiFi connections.</li>
<li>Images are not cached; discrepancies such as night images during daytime may occur if the camera feed is outdated or malfunctioning.</li>
<li>The freshness of traffic camera images depends on internet updates and cannot be guaranteed by the application.</li>
